Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Almaguer.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Nancy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started modeling when I was 16, then I slowly went into acting. I was always a big fan of fashion and when I was 19, I got a pretty cool job with an agency in Dallas doing Public relations, styling and helping local fashion shows. Now, I’m all over the place with everything I’m passionate about. I’ve been on “Queen of the south” as a warehouse girl. I’m currently building my blog content and helping others build their content. I also have a pretty cool internship with a Creative Currency, which is a music public relations company. My driven, positive and ambition soul has got me into amazing places. It’s all about persistence and setting goals. I’m also a big believer that anything is possible.
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been an easy journey for me, I’ve had MANY setbacks, went through many situations in life where I almost gave up and didn’t care about anything. The thing that kept me going is the little voice in my head saying this is not you, my sisters who have always been there through my whole transition and the love from my loved ones. I also kept myself busy reading Positive books like “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz and “You’re A badass” By Jen Sincero. Sometimes, we have to go through challenges in life to gain thicker skin, know our worth and grow. It’s ok to fall but make sure to get back up because you matter!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into your business story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a model, actress, PR, and blogger! I am my own brand and I’m just so passionate about everything that I do, whether it’s being in front of the camera or behind the scenes. Writing my press releases or writing about fashion. You just have to love what you do and own it!
Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
I had a crazy childhood. I grew up in public housing, my mom was on food stamps because she got sick and couldn’t work anymore. My dad was never around. Now, I look back and I’m glad, I grew up where I did because it reminds me that we worked hard to get out of there.
