Today we’d like to introduce you to Darryl Williams.
Hi Darryl, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The birth of EF came about from my fiance (Kristi) and I when we were living in California working our 9 to 5’s. We both were tackling all the challenges that come along with working for start-up companies and found ourselves working well beyond 80+ hours a week. Collectively, we started becoming something that we always promised ourselves we would not become and that was “weekend warriors”. It got to a point where Saturdays & Sundays felt like Christmas when they would roll back around after a crazy work week was complete. With our work week being so hectic, we made a vow to each other to always do something that released endorphins on the weekend to do something for our mental health… we never broke that promise to each other! We decided to quit our 9 to 5 and go after our lifelong dream of starting a business we would be happy waking up to each and every day. So we did just that. 🙂
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
COVID-19, need we say more? Not only did we have the lovely surprises that come along with starting a business, but we also had to plan around a national pandemic. The pandemic added a unique and surprising challenge for us. By far, that has to be our biggest struggle at the moment. The uncertainty of what is going to happen next really puts a start-up like ourselves on rocky terrain. Fortunately, we have begun building a very strong community of supporters and followers who are always looking for fun and unique ways to relieve stress.

The Endorphin Factory is where you come to make memories. No matter who you come with, friends, family, co-workers, you are guaranteed to make memories that will last a lifetime. At least that is what we aim to do! We believe the best way to relieve stress is through the “art of play”, hence our company slogan which is “Our Factory, Your Playground”. EF offers ax-throwing, archery and our most popular experience are the demolition rooms. Axe-throwing & archery gives our guests something else to focus on while still challenging themselves. It’s an added bonus that it is a lot of fun to enjoy with family and friends as well! Now, the demolition rooms are unique in their own way. They give our guests the opportunity to let-go and make a mess out of breakable items. The best part is that there is no judgment on how big of a mess you make, how loud you want to be, what tools you want to use, and how silly you want to be in that room… who cares, just let go! The best part is that they don’t have to clean it up, they leave that up to us!
Can you talk about how you think about risk?
Anytime you are going against the grain, you’re going to have some kind of friction. Risk-taking is just another part of the game when you are starting your own business. However, in our eyes, we believe that risk always feels worth it when it serves a greater purpose. Inevitably, the risk is a necessary evil, if you’re not willing to take the risk, then you don’t deserve the reward that comes along with it… whatever that reward may look like to you. For us at Endorphin Factory, our reward is witnessing our guests experience the rush of endorphins that come over them just by simply playing and having a good time with family and friends. We often make it very complex in life and sometimes we just need that reminder to slow down, unplug, and be in the moment. We have found that our guests are able to do that much better when they are able to clear their mind from their everyday stressors and they do that by enjoying our three different experiences offered.
