Meet Aisha Macon of Restricted

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aisha Macon.

Aisha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m Aisha Tennille Macon. I’m 23 years old and I’m from North Little Rock, Arkansas. I am a natural-born hustler. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been a dreamer, one that will always go after what she desires. I don’t know where to begin my story but it’s definitely one worth reading. I was nominated to tell my story by a dear friend. So here goes nothing.

In May 2015, I graduated high school and I went off to college. I was definitely excited about college. I attended Arkansas Tech University for about two years. Majoring in nursing. After two years of college there, I started missing home. So I decided to come back home. At this point, I still wanted to attend college so I did. I attended other schools for about another year off and on off and on. Until I finally decided that school wasn’t the route I wanted to take. Well, let me reword that nursing wasn’t the route I wanted to take. So last year in November of 2019, I decided that I was going to go try something different.

Now I know your thinking different? Different college? Different state? Different major? No! Different. I took a leap and I drove to Dallas with a friend to pursue a goal, a dream, something I prepared for. I went to Dallas to try out exotic dancing. Now I know that’s a bit of a major difference. But it’s true. So this was something that I had always considered but never really took a leap to go do. Until one day last year, I said GO. I had to go. I had to see what this was about. I had to see if I really wanted to do this.

I worked at a club in Dallas until about the end of January. Dancing this far has been a roller coaster. Like anything, it comes with its ups and downs. I experienced all types of emotions working in the club atmosphere hatred, jealous, enviousness, and greed. It was many emotions and characteristics from women that didn’t shock me. With me being the person I am, I was highly confident in succeeding. One thing about me, though, is I’m humble. I know I have it but I’m humble. Which is the attitude I kept 24/8 in the club. I stopped dancing at the club in Dallas after so long because some things got repetitive. Same men. Same women. Same fights. Same same same. I needed something new. I needed, in a sense, a fresh start. By the way, I fell in love with dancing. I fell in love with the way it made me feel free. After a long year of dealing with a relationship that was toxic, dancing is what set me free. From 2018-2019 I cut my hair off three different times. Every time I did, it felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Dancing took my mind off the pain. Not only was I making money but I was free. I was free of what the world thought and free of the one person I thought loved me besides family.

Fast forward to now, I’m living. I can definitely say I’ve made it happen in some type of way. I paved past all those obstacles and now I’m doing so much. I still dance, but I dance in Louisiana now. Unfortunately, the club is closed until about mid-September. I will definitely say the whole quarantine I was booked and busy. August, I had a video shoot almost every week. The last week of August was the only time I didn’t have work, which is where I utilized that time and I rested. I work for me, and it’s one of the craziest feeling ever. But it’s definitely a good one. My name is (A)isha (T)ennille (M)acon aka RestrictedATM. I would love if y’all would follow my social media’s, subscribe to my YouTube everything the whole 9 yards. I have so much more in store, and I’d love for you all to see it plus me in action.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been rough. It was definitely worth it! I had to go through a lot of the things I did to know. If somebody asked me if I wish I didn’t go through the things I did, I would say no. I’m happy God showed me. I’m happy I was able to go through it now versus waiting to go through it later. I struggled with knowing that a lot of people were gonna have something to say about what I chose to do with my life. It was never something I cared about but definitely something I had to constantly hear. Imagine going through a journey finding peace and people are constantly stating negative opinions about what path you chose to walk. Crazy huh? Right. To anybody out there, do what makes you happy. Shine like you supposes to! Find your purpose! Stand on what you love!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Restricted – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business is Restricted. Restricted is my everything. That is me!! Restricted is my brand. The name restricted came from a dear friend of mine. She really genuinely wanted me to have a name that would tie in with my real name. It’s so crazy because she sent me a picture this year of her brain storming years ago of what my name should be. On the piece of paper, she had my full name written out, then other names all around it. She had a whole brainstorming session for my name. I do a number of things. I’m a dancer, I sell clothes, I make waist beads, I model, and I’m a video girl. I specialize in mainly dancing for sure and my videos but it’s a lot of other things I wanna tap into. With my company, I wanna say I’m most mainly proud of my waist beads. They have really taken off. I have orders everyday. I’m so blessed and thankful. I think the biggest thing that sets me apart from others as a company as a person as Restricted would be my humbleness. I’m so humble! I take forth every opportunity and I learn from it. I let life be my teacher.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The thing I love most about Dallas would probably be the food. I love to eat. The thing I like least about Dallas would be the traffic. The traffic in Dallas is ridiculous.
