Today we’d like to introduce you to Amelia Meadows.
Amelia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
While riding on the roller-coaster of motherhood, a few years ago, I found myself with a lot of questions, challenges, and concerns. Many times, I felt alone, frustrated, and sometimes embarrassed. I had this fantasy of what being a mommy would be like.
I imagined all the blissful moments and, happy faces. I just knew that I would be the best and that “S” on my chest would come with ease. I mean I knew there would be a few struggles but nothing like this. I quickly learned that motherhood was not the beautiful fairy tale I dreamt of. Yes, I had a lot of blissful moments, but I also had just as many nights of tears.
Yes, I had days filled with happy faces, but I also had days filled with hard challenges and struggles that made me feel like a failure. I quickly learned that this was not a job I could do alone. I needed help, advice, and guidance. But, because, I felt that Moms are supposed to know it all, I was embarrassed to ask. I was afraid that I would be judged or labeled inadequate of being a mother and that I was admitting that I was a failure.
One day I was sitting among a group of other moms, and while I was listening to their conversation, I realized I was not alone in the struggle. They too had questions and feared to ask them. So, God gave me a nudge to create a community for moms to unite and become a tribe that each other needs. God gave me the vision of M.E3.M. Inc.
M.E3.M. is a community created for moms to come together to empower, educate and encourage each other in one of the greatest calling upon their life, MOTHERHOOD.
It is also the mission of the organization to not only grow and cultivate moms to be the best in motherhood, but to also be the best version of themselves in all areas of life: Spiritual, physical, intellectual, financial, vocational, and relational.
M.E3.M. was first established in October of 2017 doing only service projects for moms in need. It has since then grown to be a membership-based community offering much more.
I am the Founder/President of the organization as well as I am the owner and life coach of Momz Empowered. I use my past experiences, challenges, and passion to not only help moms become the best version of themselves, but also to rock motherhood.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, not at all. But it definitely has been rewarding and worth it every step of the way. I knew I would face some challenges, but I did not think about the fact that most of my challenges would be internally. My greatest challenges was perfection.
Perfection is an issue of many disregards. You would think that perfection would be a great quality to have, but for me and many entrepreneurs, perfection is a hindrance to success. I am a perfectionist by nature, so naturally, if something is not right, I would stress out about it.
I would focus so much on what was not right that I missed everything that was right. I missed so many opportunities and wasted so much time because trying to make what was already right perfect to my eyes.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with M.E3.M, – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The factor I believe that sets us apart is this organization is not your typical social meetup club for moms where you get a break from being a mommy, laugh, talk and go home. M.E3.M. creates tribes of moms who are willing to get into the trenches with one another. This is a community of moms who will EMPOWER, EDUCATE and ENCOURAGE you through your toughest struggles to your happiest moments on your journey of being a mom.
When a mom becomes a part of M.E3.M she becomes an invaluable piece. She must know that her story as mother will indeed help other mothers just as much as their stories will help her. WE MOM TOGETHER!
This is not what only sets us apart but is the very thing I am proud of for this organization.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I know the future is bright and will be filled with many testimonies of moms connecting and growing together. I am looking forward to adding more programs to further position moms to reach beyond their best. One of the new programs will be scholarship fund for moms wishing to return to school and complete their dreams.
