Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Minervini.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’ve always been a painter and really enjoy experimenting with all mediums. I fell in LOVE with face paint in 2012 when I was asked to volunteer at a Halloween event and paint children. Soon after, I realized it’s where my true passion lies. I enjoy nothing more than working with children and making them feel special. During a 17-year career as an artist for a local art company, I honed my skills as a trainer and teacher. I’ve been teaching artists and non-artists to paint for many years. The transition to teaching face painters was a natural one for me. I am a self-taught artist with a degree in Broadcasting and Marketing. I love teaching, making videos, editing and painting. My YouTube channel is a labor of love and a way for me to combine all of things that I love most.
Please tell us about your art.
I’m a face painter and makeup artist. I create original designs for festival and birthday face painting and teach other artists how to create those designs on the job. My YouTube channel is focused on helping aspiring face painters learn to face paint and build confidence.
One of the reasons I fell in love with face painting is I get the best few minutes with children. I get the happy, excited, shining moment with children when they see themselves transformed in the mirror. It feeds my soul. That moment is pure magic and I feel so lucky to be a part of it.
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
Have fun! If you’re not having fun with your art then you’re doing it wrong.
