Meet Brandi Price of Beatnik Films

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Price.

Brandi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I suppose I’ve always wanted to be an actor. My mother caught me ‘practicing’ emotions on several occasions as a child. Production came later, but I find great love in that process as well. I’m now, very fortunately, able to pursue the dream of being an actor and entertainment professional full-time.

Has it been a smooth road?
Making films can be a devastatingly arduous process, but the joy of creating supersedes those hardships. I imagine any artist sings a story much the same as mine: life isn’t quite complete without the art inside each one of us made manifest. I’m incredibly fortunate to do what I love.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am an actor/filmmaker and owner of Beatnik Films. We specialize in, well, making films – for a laugh, to tell a story, to spread a message – born of love and a creative spark.  As a business owner and entertainer, I ultimately want to spread a message of hope and to create a space to work collaboratively with like-minded entertainment professionals.

Thus far, we have had the most success in the festival market with ‘Committed,’ a fan film about The Joker and Harley Quinn in couples’ therapy.  It has traveled the world, being highly lauded in several countries and winning multiple awards.  We look forward to the next venture – creating magic with old and new friends alike.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Dallas has a deep reservoir of untapped talent, an abundance of locations, varied landscapes and people enthralled with the idea of making films. However, we lack political support in order to compete with neighboring states. So, it is important that we try to keep film alive and active here in our Lone Star home.
