Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Gilmore.
Brian, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got my entrepreneurial journey started primarily in college attending the University of North Texas and seeking a degree in entrepreneurship. I went to UNT mostly because it was one of the only schools at the time with an undergrad degree in entrepreneurship, although it’s much more common now. I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart, and I’ve always enjoyed helping “the little guy,” so doing what I do now is just a great fit.
Now, I get to help someone start or expand their business through our business plan services. I get to work with great people who have great ideas. It really is a lot of fun.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I would say there have definitely been some bumps. Like many business owners, I started it as a side gig, meeting with clients in coffee shops, hotel lobbies, restaurants… wherever we could meet and always on nights and weekends. As the business grew, I pursued it full-time, got an office location in North Dallas, and hired my first employee; we’ve been growing ever since. Now, and we’ll have to wait to see how it all turns out, but Coronavirus may end up being my biggest challenge yet! I’m encouraging all entrepreneurs to keep pushing through all of this, and I’m listening to my own advice.

I think the vast majority of successful business owners are able to point to multiple people in their lives who have helped them achieve success. My parents have always been very supportive of anything I have ever done. I’ve had a number of contacts in the business world who I consider friends who have helped me along the way. I always try to return the favor as much as I can.
