Today we’d like to introduce you to Brodrick Rhodes.
Brodrick, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in the Dallas area in a pretty normal family. I grew up with my one sister and my parents. Growing up in Highland Hills specifically I saw a lot of bad in my community but there was also a great deal of good being done in my community. After finishing up my education in the public school systems Wilmer-Hutchins ISD and Dallas ISD, I decided to take a change on college and became my family’s first-generation college graduate when I received my Bachelor of Business Administration from The Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas. Since 11 years old I knew real estate was my passion, so now I’m living my dream.
Has it been a smooth road?
I would definitely say it has not been a smooth road along the way. I have made mistakes along the way but I have yet to encounter an obstacle that has made me give up. Growing up I always say my parents work harder than anyone I know and while I didn’t have everything I wanted they provided everything that my sister and I needed. Going off to college was very difficult for my initially because I didn’t know what to expect so there were times where I wanted to give up. In fact, during my collegiate experience, I dropped out of school not once, but twice.
There was one instance where I dropped out while living and working in Tyler. My family believed I was in school but I was just surviving. There was another instance where I dropped out of college and moved back to Dallas. I got a decent job but I was feeling incomplete, so I marched into my boss’s office and quit my job and went back to college. I didn’t have enough financial aid to pay for room and board so I was basically homeless until a residence manager gave me a key to a vacant room and I stayed there from January until I received my BBA in May of 2014.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is Rhodes Residential Group brokered by Scottie Smith, II & Associates. Having worked in many facets of the real estate industry as an HOA Researcher, Land Acquisition Analyst for a Fortune 500 company, and in multi-family leasing, I knew that real estate was always where I would be. In 2016 I became licensed to sell real estate in the state of Texas. I do sell real estate all over the DFW metroplex, but I specialize in selling real estate in the suburban areas south of the DFW metroplex. Rhodes Residential Group has also completed a great deal of relocation transactions for employees of corporations moving to DFW.
We are known for the ability to assist the first time buyer with buying a starter home all the way up to handling high-end complex residential real estate transactions. I am most proud of Rhodes Residential Group’s ability to keep core values such ethics, unparalleled customer service, and attention to the small details at the forefront of everything we do. No matter what, my main priority is always my client’s best interest. When it comes to buying and selling real estate it can be a very tedious process and because I am also a certified teacher, it gives me a competitive edge of having the ability to break down the process step by step making sure every client understands and feels at ease every step of the transaction.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I believe Dallas area is an amazing place for realtors to set up and be prosperous. I would definitely recommend Dallas a good place to start of in real estate. I take great pride in being a Dallas native. In a city where there are so many transplants from other states, I believe that fact alone is a testament to the fact that Dallas is a place that anyone with the drive and determination will be able to thrive. Starting out I was a young 26-year-old starting in a business where statistics show that most realtors fail in the first year, I went on to sell multi-million dollars of real estate in my first full year. I am living proof that Dallas is a land for the opportunity.
