Meet Carmen “Dragonfly” Studer of Carmen Studer in Las Colinas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen “Dragonfly” Studer.

Carmen has been fascinated by the intangible soul since her mother was diagnosed with cancer when she was 14 years old. At age 29 Carmen ‘discovered’ the now famous personal development guru Byron Katie. Carmen regularly jokes that she found Byron Katie and “The Work” long before Oprah Winfrey did. Katie, as everyone calls her was Carmen’s inspiration to create her own emotionally based systems to enhance people’s lives and help them reconstruct their realities. As a Life Coach Carmen not only believes in what she teaches, she thinks it is each person’s responsibility to wake up, make the world a better place, and to expect more magnificent possibilities in their lives. Carmen also co-founded OneHeart Project, a charity which brought her national media recognition for her work with youth out of prison. She is a former film producer and uses many film based concepts to help people see their own characters within. She knows the hidden links to happiness and assists her clients in pulling out repeated stories that no longer serve them. She encourages people to get off the “Misery-Go-Round” and to begin INVERTING FEAR. Energy management is her specialty and she expects a lot from everyone’s future! Her nickname is Dragonfly because she is gifted with the ability to see things from every direction.

Has it been a smooth road?
There is a list, all overcome with grace and perfection. Rarely talk about them except for life saving purposes.
1. Dad cheated on mom and they almost divorced.
2. Mom died of cancer (the reason there wasn’t a divorce).
3. Son born with hole in his heart. After a successful surgery he developed staph and strep infection and almost died.
4. Daughter born 7 weeks early, also almost died of RSV.
5. Divorce from extremely co-dependent 20 year marriage.
6. Survived downward post-divorce spiral that led to my eventual cure for co-dependence and victim mentality.
7. Dad became alcoholic late in age.
8. Overcame pattern addiction to social but daily drinking of alcohol myself.
9. Had to start over at age 50 with a new career path. Have a God possessed passion and inspiration for my new life and work.
10. Co-founded OneHeart Project. Allowed me to mentor youth out of prison, no easy task.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Carmen Studer – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
It is a business that called me at a young age, yet I ignored the calling until two years ago. I was originally trained by Byron Katie in my late twenties but chose to invest full time in my children and family instead. I have spent years mentoring youth from prison and even some from sex trafficking but didn’t make coaching my livelihood until I turned 50. I discovered I have a gift for seeing people’s highest and best self and then helping them see it…we chisel away at their unwanted parts like an inverted emotional sculpture. It is a collaborative effort. I provide the systems that allow people to visibly see their emotional power. Once they tap in, the sculpting begins. Human art, each person becoming both the artist and the art…. The Michaelangelo and The David. I teach people to become “the master” and to stop looking to outsiders….. To master their own blueprint. What I do is experiential. People learn best by feeling it rather than talking about it. I am ironically most proud of what I have done within my own universe. I have completely transformed all my own darkness into a beautiful light and life. Now this light shines so bright that I can hold a sacred space for people to see and then create their own “way” to freedom, success, health and love. What sets me apart? I can look anyone in the eye and tell them they can do it, because I have done it myself. I haven’t had one client yet that hasn’t had big shifts within 4-8 sessions.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Las Colinas is the darling of Irving. Irving sounds like the name of an accountant from the 70’s but really it is the best place I can think of to live and work. The Irving Chamber is the most legit Chamber I personally have ever experienced. We have the Four Seasons (you had me at hello), The Toyota Music Factory, Via Real, Jinbeh, a beautiful path around Lake Carolyn and many more attractions. Not only that, we are close to both airports and centrally located between Dallas and Ft Worth.
