Meet Chandler Gadis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chandler Gadis.

Coach Chandler is from Cedar Hill, Texas and has been playing golf since he was 12 years old. He quickly learned the game and started competing competitively as a freshman in high school. His senior year, he tied for first place at the 2006 TAPPS State Championship and was named a High School All American recognized by the National High School Coaches Association. Coach Chandler went on to receive a full ride golf scholarship to Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he studied Economics. After college, he turned professional and played on various mini tours traveling the United States.

Chandler started Chandler School of Golf in 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia junior teaching golf at various elementary after school programs. Coach Chandler still continues this program today now with teaching adults in a fun group setting. The normal golf lesson is pretty mundane, but adding a twist of playing golf games and networking with other like minded millennials put you at ease. The events are fresh and upbeat, unlike any other clinic you have ever been to.

Coach Chandler joined The First Tee of Greater Dallas staff in March of 2015. He now resides in Dallas, Texas, with his wife. Coach Chandler enjoys his time finding hidden food gems, critiquing movies and playing golf with his buddies on occasion.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With the passing of my father in 2011, that set me back quite a bit with funding for golf tournaments, motivation and several other things.

Please tell us about the organization.
The First Tee is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people. Through after school and in-school programs, we help shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf. And it’s making a difference.

Currently, I wear two hats in the company. I am the Director at Trinity Forest Learning center in South Dallas and I am also the Regional Outreach Manager for Southern Dallas. My specialties include but are not limited to Growing the program, corporate partnerships and being the face of The First Tee as a brand.

As a company, we see over 112,000 kids in just DALLAS. Yes, 112,000 kids see our program. We do alot of that through training PE teachers to put on programming during their PE time throughout the school year. We operate weeknight and weekend programming put on by our staff as well as partnering with other agencies such as boys and girls clubs and YMCA’s. We also partnered with individual schools and put on after school programming at various golf courses throughout Dallas. Currently, we operate programming at 17 golf courses in Dallas.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I honestly have no regrets. A lot of what I went through, I feel like I needed to in order to get where I am today, I am a firm believer in God and he makes no mistakes. This was and is my calling and my passion. I literally love what I do.
