Meet Chloe Bergren

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Bergren.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chloe. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
This whole photography and modeling business started for me because I had no idea what I wanted to do in my life. I’m currently in school; I’m going into my senior year of college at UNT! I was going through some personal stuff but amidst my crazy life, I decided I wanted to study abroad from January 2019-April 2019. I did a program called semester at sea. This program allowed me to go away on a cruise ship and visit 11 different countries while still going to school on the ship. I needed some serious ME time; That’s what this voyage was about for me. I knew no one out of the 500 students on my voyage, and my main goal was to make connections and figure out what the heck I wanted to do with my life. Fast forward four months after my voyage, and I was a new woman (basically.) I knew I was creative and wanted to find something to express my creative outlet. I had purchased a nice camera prior to my voyage to capture the moments I experienced.

My love for photography did not start on this voyage. However, a spark started in me for fashion and photography. When I started getting more clientele, they told me I should model, and my answer was “HECK NO, I”M NOT THE SLIGHTEST BIT CONFIDENT IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA” As you can probably tell, I’m better at directing the model than trying to be the model. However, after some very serious convincing from my wonderful clients and family, I gave in. I fell in love immediately. This is what I wanted to do. So here I am, going into my senior year, modeling, being published, living my five-year-old dream honestly. I’m getting exposure from companies and photographers and I couldn’t be more thankful for those who have pushed me. I’m a model, photographer and full-time student, and I am extremely proud of myself.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been struggles amidst the chaos of it all. Photographers can be brutal in the industry and really make you question stuff about yourself. However, you just have to remember the real reason why you’re doing what you’re doing and persevere through the challenges. Not everyone is going to like you and support you and that’s just something I finally had to accept. However, for the photography side of it all, I experience challenges such as my editing style and marketing myself properly.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Chloe Bergren Photography does not specialize in any specific type of photos. My thing that I specialize in is trying any fun concept by clients throw at me. I love a good challenge; that’s why I do not focus my business to just one type of photography; however, I keep it very broad. As for modeling, I shoot just about anything. I have my restrictions, just as most models do, but I love trying new things as well. My personality is very adventurous, so I love the challenge of trying new things.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’d say it’s somewhere in the middle for me. I’ve been very lucky with meeting some of the most amazing people on the modeling and photography side of this whole thing. However, the unlucky portion would consist of me being very short, so I can’t do runway, and for photography, I’ve been nothing but lucky. I like to look at it like, “my time will come,” so I try to be positive and not see myself as experiencing anything unlucky.
