Meet David Gomez of DFW Financial Agency in Richardson

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Gomez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us David. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started in the payday and title loan business. The franchise I worked for decided to get into the Insurance business. As soon as I obtained my licensed, I found my calling.

Growing up, my mom always said, “Always keep your promise”. I have found that the Insurance Industry is about keeping a promise to your clients.

In 2017, I decided to start my own Insurance/Financial Brokerage named DFW Financial Agency. Recently, I obtained my Real Estate license.

Dallas has been great to me and I love the culture!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If I can sum up Entrepreneurship in a movie, it would be The Pursuit of Happiness.

Will Smith is such a great actor and the way he is depicted is similar to the struggles I faced.

When you’re a business owner, you’re paid on a commission-only basis with overhead expenses. I could no longer afford daycare and had to have my daughter in the office. My first office was the size of a closet (literally).

My car owed tolls and which stopped me from registering my vehicle. I had to borrow my mom’s old car which did something to my ego. Here I am, trying to improve my life and everything seems to go wrong.

It took me about a year to earn what I made at my previous job. Here I am today, making more money than I did previously.

In the end, results speak for themselves. We are one of the rare Insurance/Financial Brokerages owned by Millenials.

DFW Financial Agency – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our Business/Company is named DFW Financial Agency for a reason.

We provide Insurance, Taxes, and Real Estate Services.

We proudly have a 5-star rating on Google and Facebook.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment would have to be doing what I said I was going to do.

Many times, I have been counted out. Business/Entrepreneurship has been my favorite sport so far.
