Meet Dean Lindsay, Popular Business Speaker and Author

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dean Lindsay.

Dean, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I graduated from Denison High School where I was a proud member of the 1984 Undefeated 4A Texas State Championship Football Team, the Fighting Denison Yellowjackets. In high school, I served as president of the student council and loved acting in school plays. It was this love of theater that lead me to become a founding member of the Texas Shakespeare Festival.

I joined Up With People, an educational sing and dance group that traveled around the world, and was given the opportunity to sing a bunch of solos, giving me even more stage experience. It was in Up With People that I met my wife, Lena.

I graduated from the University of North Texas (Communications) in Denton and Lena and I moved to the Dallas area. I pursued acting, music and acting coaching with highlights being releasing two albums, coaching LeAnn Rimes on a movie of the week and playing a ‘bad guy’ in the Warner Brothers’ blockbuster TWISTER.

I began to coach C level professionals acting for the camera and stage presence and that leads me to speak full time. I wrote my first book, Cracking the Networking CODE in 2005. My fourth book, Think Progress Leadership Not Change Management, comes out in the fall of 2018.

Lena and I have two strong and wonderfully bright daughters, Sofia and Ella!!

Has it been a smooth road?
My biggest struggles are self-imposed. I like many people, tend to measure myself with someone else’s yardstick which is a mistake. The more I can remember to ask for the Lord’s guidance and run my own race the better off I am.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Dean Lindsay Interactive – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My company is one of helpful creativity. I am blessed to be able to encourage people to be more, do more, have a better life. I get to do this through my books: Cracking the Networking CODE, The PROGRESS Challenge, How to Achieve Big PHAT Goals, and Think PROGRESS Leadership NOT Change Management (soon to be released).

My company specializes inspiring progress in leadership, sales, customer service and teamwork. I am pretty sure what sets me apart is my empathy to the human condition, my sense of humor and my willingness to take risks. I believe in people and truly want to help. This also shows in my music. I have a full-length album coming out in the summer of 2018. Readers can check out three tunes now on SPOTIFY (search Dean Lindsay). The song that is presently getting the most attention is entitled Long Breath In.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I LOVE all the music and live events that roll through our great metroplex. We have so many great venues including the Poor David’s Pub, Majestic Theater, Dallas Theater Center and the House of Blues Dallas. We also have great local bands and theater groups like The Van Sanchez, Colin Boyd, The Relatives, Droo’s Peace Crush, Singer Lady Diamond and Ochre House Theater (True Pioneers of the Suavant Guarde).

This leads me to what I dislike most about this city…. going to see live music and then talking over the artist. Truly shortsighted and disrespectful to ALL.

I ALSO must share that I love Plano’s Police Department, School District, Parks and Library System!!

Finally, I LOVE how close we are to a world-class educational institution like the University of Texas at Dallas. They have some uber-smart, caring educators over there pumping out some top-notch young professionals into the DFW career pool! Go UTD!!

And yes I dislike DFW traffic.
