Meet Ernest Kassim of Tito Entertainment LLC in Dallas/Irving

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ernest Kassim.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Hello. I am most know me as Tito. I moved to the states at age of 11. Growing up African can be very stressful as a kid because it feels like your life is already decided by your parents. It either you become a doctor, a nurse, an engineer, a lawyer, or a pharmacist. After completing all the courses and getting accepted into two pharmacy schools out of three that I applied to. I ran into financial issues an not being able to continue pharmacy school. I never dreamed of becoming nothing, but a pharmacist. Now, I had to rethink life and try to find something else that I’m good at. Lucky enough, my pharmacy tech license was still active to find a something to do while I figure life out. April 2017, my cousin called me and said, he has a job for me. he took me to king tut hookah lounge and without telling me anything, He told the owners “this is the guy I told you he’s going to come to manage it” and that was the beginning of Tito Ent LLC. Life doesn’t always happen as we dream for it be, but not being stuck on one path for long trying to reach success is what most need to know.

There are so many ways to success, that sometimes, I feel like we forget and get stuck on one thing and waste so much time trying to complete it. Now, it’s a blessing to have my own Ent business which does Blend of culture Saturday night at king tut hookah lounge and also a new nightlife at Osiris hookah lounge in Carrollton on Friday known as FOREIGN FRIDAYZ. I have met so many people that I’m blessed to have in my life and also very big stars too. I plan to have a festival this year that I’m working on and many more things to come as God bless me with strength. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There’s never success without challenge. I’m always trying to put out something different out and sometimes you have to separate feelings from business because not everyone will like your decisions. Starting a new business and opening a new location and having to go throwing the beginnings is always a struggle. Some night, I had to come out of my own pocket to cover thing and it’s because I believed everything that I’m putting out. So, some nights are owning a business and seeing no one at your spot… is due to weather or the beginning of the month that people don’t have money. You always have to make sure you’ve planned your weekend ahead.

Tito Entertainment LLC – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a partner at two hookah lounges and through that, I own my own entertainment as a promoter. Tito Entertainment LLC. I always say as a business owner, you always have to know who is in your house. Taking time to make sure I meet everyone one and making sure they’re okay is something most people advice sets it apart from others.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success means different to anyone. Success to me is being able to accomplish the things that I say I’m going to do and getting it done. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is. Just making sure I’m getting stuck on one thing or being too big to ask for help to complete anything. Now, I’ve been able to bring the different group together Africans, Americans, Hispanics or Asians together each weekend to have a good time.
