Meet Esteban Flores of Feeves in Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Esteban Flores of FEEVES.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Esteban. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Rolando and I have been playing in bands since we were kids. We grew up in a small town in New Mexico called Carlsbad. There wasn’t a major city within 8 hours of where we were, as you can imagine there wasn’t much of an art scene. The upside about that was we could play loud music for as long as we wanted. That’s kinda what gave me more of a DIY attitude. If you’re the only one in a city making music, you don’t really have anyone to teach you how to book shows, write songs, etc.

We both ended up moving to Dallas and started playing in a version of “Feeves”. We were more of a generic pop band than I would like to admit. Around the time, we were feeling pretty disheartened by the fact that nothing was happening for us we met Nick. He’s such an exciting spirit I knew the moment I met him we’d be playing music together.

After bringing him on the team, we knew we had something special. It wasn’t developed yet but you could just kinda feel it in the air. I feel like ever since then we’ve just been working on developing that feeling.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
There have been a few really fun moments in this thing. Playing a few shows with our hero’s in “Knox Hamilton” was awesome. More recently having our new single “Loose Ends” featured on Spotify’s editorial playlist Fresh Finds: Six Strings was a highlight for all of us. Our new record feels really special to us. I can speak for the other guys in saying its a step in a more honest direction. The songs make me feel like I did when me and Rolly were kids playing music in my dad’s garage.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Here’s the thing about life…
It’s way more fun when you have good people around you.
Dallas has special people.
