Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Castro and Ally Webb.
Heather and Ally, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Ah Beauty is a team of two. Ally, the hairstylist and Heather, the makeup artist. We are best friends turned business partners. This amazing journey took us by surprise. We helped a friend out by doing hair and makeup for a wedding she was a part of and that quickly turned into a full blown business by referral. Social media has honestly played such a huge role in our business. We can share photos and see testimonies from our beautiful brides who share our names with others.
Has it been a smooth road?
We would say the toughest challenge for us being business owners and in the wedding industry, would be balancing children and home schedules with our busy weekend schedules. Between the two of us, we have five children. Ages 10, 6, 5, 2, 1
Please tell us about your work.
We specialize in on-site makeup and hair for brides and bridal parties. What sets us apart from other beauty professionals is that we are a duo. We make the search for vendors that much easier for a bride. We are so proud of our relationships we can build with our brides. We leave a wedding with a new friend every time. Ally and I learn and get to know the brides and their families and friends, so it’s not just business for us, it’s a chance to build lasting friendships.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We once said at the beginning of our journey, “It would be so cool to be so busy we need others to help” “You know what else would be cool? Working two weddings in one day with two other girls working one and us working the other!” We are at the point where completing 100+ weddings a year is amazing, but We feel we could do more! Our five-year goal has always been to find another perfect duo to work with us! Build a team if you will.
