Meet Holly Pritchard of HealthMarkets Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Pritchard.

Holly, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been in the insurance business around 9 years…. and it has been a roller coaster. When the Affordable Care Act was passed, the industry changed dramatically…. and has changed a little bit every day since. Good thing I love roller coasters! ha. Our industry has traditionally been male-dominated, but in many cases, it is women who make decisions on health coverage for the family. So I partnered with an excellent agent and my good friend, Lindsey Mackey Wielgosz. We set out to change things!

We wanted to create an office that was truly diverse that puts the client first. Our goal was for every client to feel comfortable at our office and to provide a level of service unparalleled in the industry. To do this, we trained our agents to offer to meet each client in person. This is not the norm in insurance, but we feel that personal touch helps us understand their needs and makes them more confident in their buying decisions. We also have assembled a team that is truly diverse in every way: Gender, Race, Age, and Economic Level.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, as much as I love roller coasters, there have been days where I said… I WANT OFF! We are brokers who work with all different carriers, but there are days things just don’t work! Sometimes the cost is too high, or the doctor they need doesn’t take the plans for which they qualify.

Sometimes I have to get really creative to meet a client’s unique needs! I have to remind myself that the reason my clients need me is because this is hard. If picking benefits was easy, I would be out of a job!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about HealthMarkets Dallas – what should we know?
Our agency offers benefits to small businesses and individuals. This is a very underserved community and we are one of the few agencies that offer full benefits to these two groups! Our personal service, and our customer service after the sale, are top notch. Our offerings are diverse so we can serve our clients at any age.

We offer Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Small Group Health Insurance, Supplemental (includes vision, dental, accident, illness, etc.), Disability, Long Term Care, and a host of Medicare Solutions.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Our focus on the client is the number one reason for our success. We do the right thing for the client. Every time. We have developed an environment and culture that, combined with rigorous training, prepares us for any situation.

Pricing:

  • Life Insurance is less expensive then many think. You can protect a family for $25 a month.
  • Supplemental Insurance can help families avoid bankruptcy in the event of and accident or Illness. They begin at $5 a month
  • Medicare options are quite comprehensive and there are plans available for $0.
  • Most Small Businesses can qualify for Group insurance, and the rates are approximately 30% less than the open market.
