I started working with credit and finance more than 25 years ago after I personally experienced my own credit challenges and the hardships of working to overcome them. Since that time, I have dedicated thousands of hours to research and helping consumers across the country achieve the credit status they deserve. I feel very blessed to have had the esteemed honor of being mentored on the intricacies of credit, the credit bureaus and the credit system from the foremost credit experts in the country.
My true mission and focus, has always been to work from the highest level of integrity, to make the largest positive impact on the world around me. I absolutely love what I do! Educating and empowering my clients is a passion, and I love the challenges and rewards it presents. Winning trust and ensuring a client’s loyalty through exemplary skill and unwavering ethics is the way I approach all aspects of my company. I would say one of things I’m most proud of is the stellar reputation I’ve established and I get to help people achieve their dreams personally and professionally every day.
Ms. Shapiro has been a guest on radio shows such as The Automotive Edge with Kurt Chase, The Real Talk with Willie Lambright and Chasing the Truth on ESPN. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t think you can say being an entrepreneur is easy, it requires long hours, dedication and the persistence of a bulldog. You experience successes and failures; and on occasion… either one can be spectacular in nature. As a single Mom, I personally found that trying to find a good work-life balance was very difficult for me, especially at the beginning of my career. It was very challenging.
Shapiro Hurst & Associates – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I love when people ask me what I do for a living because I get to tell them, “I’m a warrior for consumers with credit issues!” Although Shapiro Hurst was founded in the credit repair industry, to say we are simply a credit repair company would not do justice to what we have created.
Many years ago, I realized that credit reports are like children. They’re all unique and just because someone is experiencing a credit issue doesn’t mean they can fit into one little box called credit repair. For example, if you were scheduled to close on a home loan in three weeks, you don’t have months to go through a credit repair process. You need a consumer advocate, and this is one of the things that makes us highly unique in our industry.
By understanding compliance and the laws that govern credit reporting, there are many times that we can help the person that has an emergency situation in 30 days or less. Our in house record from the time a client was on our desk to a letter of deletion in hand was seven minutes. Another example of how our expertise truly shines in our industry is a 124 point jump in my client’s credit score in seven days. Having a mastery level of skill to bring to the table for our clients is something our entire company is very proud of.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Although defining success is truly subjective for each of us individually. For me, true success is being able to live life to the fullest, having close ties to my family and the ability to contribute to the world around me.
