Today we’d like to introduce you to JaMeyah “Lowkeey” Moore.
Lowkeey, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m from Corsicana, TX so my main focus was to always take care of home. Although in my town there is already a boys&girls club, I wanted to also give something more to the kids. I started off promoting parties and throwing events in 2014. Managing artists and modeling came into play once I started networking and moving around DFW more. I created relationships and met some genuine people along the way of my journey of finding my passion for Music and Art itself. I’ve never really been the girly-girl type so 9/10 you’d see me in a durag. Now, I have my own durag line, KeeyRagz.
Has it been a smooth road?
Procrastination and Emotions were my biggest challenges along the way. Especially when it came to the Music industry. The biggest thing I always had to remember was that “Feelings don’t go with Business”. Emotionally it was hard for me to separate the two at first because I hated how dealing with certain people and certain situations not everything was peaches and cream but the media is all a game in reality, but I played it my way. Lowkeey Mgmt will resume eventually.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I specialize in Brand/Artist Mgmt, CEO KeeyRagz, and Modeling. What sets my brand apart from others. I don’t move for the money, I move for the reason. For example, when it comes to dealing with artists, I will always go hard for them as if it was my own career. At the end of the day, they are not making music for a hobby they are planning to be able to feed their families and become wealthy enough to never clock in again. At the end of it all, I just want to be able to take care of Home. Corsicana will soon take a trip back to how it was in 02’/06’.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I would definitely recommend Dallas to start a business. Dallas is filled with plenty of promotional teams, blogs, and two of the hottest radio stations.
