Meet Jemone Nikonbeast Casey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jemone Nikonbeast Casey.

Jemone, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since about 2007, I wanted to get into Photography and at the time, I was staying in Shreveport so about a year later, 2008. I knew I couldn’t get the camera that I wanted so with the money that I did have, I purchased what I could afford a Fuji film 20x zoom digital camera… my first shoot was with my little sister for my first time I was happy with how they came out… show them off and work and a co-worker wanted me to do her wedding. I didn’t want to do it at all because I know I didn’t have the proper equipment she still insists that I do it smh… let’s just say after that I told myself I wouldn’t do anything major like that without the right camera setup I end up doing a few more gigs no wedding though lol.

I finally got enough money to get a good professional camera, searched for a few months end up getting a Nikon D90. I like it because it features… I stared using it, didn’t know what I was doing but I quickly learned it. I became a beast at it hence the name Nikonbeast (giving to me by one of my friends.) Fast forward to 2012 moved to Dallas business was slow did gigs off and on till about 2018, started working at Prymebar Dallas. Since Then I have built a name for my self and I have been able to work with radio station 97.9 the beat and take pictures of various artist such as Lil Wayne Nipsey Hussle Meg thee Stallion Boosie Kevin gates and many other artists.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been smooth business was slow when I first moved to Dallas and then my cameras got stolen and I was down for about eight months before I could replace everything that was stolen.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I do photography and videography such as promo videos and recap videos. I specialize in details; I pay attention to everything when I’m shooting so I can make sure I get the best shot possible with the least amount of editing as possible. I am most proud of the progress that I have made since I have been taking pictures… my passion for photography is what sets me apart; I love doing it I don’t see it as work.
