Meet Jernae Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jernae Brown.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Hello everyone, I am an NPC Bikini Fitness Competitor, Fitness, and Promotional Model originally from San Antonio Texas, but I now reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. I am a full-time student at the University of Phoenix pursuing my Master’s in Business Finance who’s looking forward to graduating next Summer 2019.

In 2014, I began my NPC/IFBB journey as a Bikini Fitness competitor. I have competed so far in a total of four shows ever since with my first show being the NPC Phil Heath Classic in 03/28/2015, The NPC Jay Cutler The Cut Above The Rest in 11/07/2015, Europa June 17 – 18 2016 and IFBB North American Championship on September 3, 2016. Over time, my fitness journey turned into a lifestyle a form of leisure time where I enjoy maximizing my time in the gym whether it is for Off Season Prep or getting ready for another NPC/IFBB bikini competition.

Over the years, I have shot for a total of 22 awesome photographers which include some of my good friends Alexandro Noyola, Shannon Skinner, Cred Magazine- Ray360 LLC, Christopher Butler, MetroANE Magazine, North Star Outfitters, and Wicked Hailey.

I have been featured in several Work-Shops/ for Teo Salinas of TS Photography:

(Workshop/Feburary9th2014:http://www.meetup.com/bodyshots-fitness-glamour/events/158631282
and I have been featured in Drive-In Magazine www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/593964.)

Please tell us about your art.
My form of art as a fitness competitor is sculpting the female physique. Showing that muscles can be both sexy and awesome. I began this journey by the persuasion of my Dentist lol every four months or so I would go to my routine cleanings in my workout clothes, and she asked do I like working out I said yep-yep and she suggested that I should and would fall in love with competing. I was a little nervous, and it took some time for me to simply jump with both feet in and when I finally did I was hooked.

I would like for people to continue to enjoy it, to be entertained. The inspiration I hope others get from my journey is “To Go For It.” If you have ever wanted to compete, been to a show and felt this inner desire to get started, don’t wait “Just Go For It.”

Being in the bodybuilding industry has helped me become more organized, unafraid to set more goals, bodybuilding can make you feel like a superhero like you can achieve ANYTHING you put your mind and time to, and most importantly your always happy.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success means different things to different individuals, to me, a part of success is actually seeing your dreams become a reality. When you work so hard for something, it is insane the feelings you have once they have been achieved. And enjoying the fruits of your labor ain’t so bad either, haha.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I am always in my favorite place the gym, but please come by and say hello at a local competition. The closer I get to a competition, I like to post which shows I am interested in and you also get to see your favorite fitness vendors there too. Another cool thing is you might spot your other favorite NPC/IFBB competitors there as well.
