Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Johnson.
Joe, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Joe Johnson and Divine was started in 2012, right here in DFW. I have been singing since I was able to talk. Through my training and experience. I have been able to bring a group of young people who love to sing together to offer our gift to the world. We started as Joe Johnson and Divine Worship but I quickly realized that our calling was outside of the four walls of the church. Though I do love God and give all credit for what we do to Him, I did not want the word Worship to limit our influence or impact on the community, the city, the state or nation. We have been blessed enough to share the same stage with names such as Rachel Hollis, Trent Shelton, and more! There is so much more that we have in store and we are looking forward to all of the opportunities that will soon come our way!
Has it been a smooth road?
In the beginning, it seemed easy doing what we do and what we love. In everything you experience trials and obstacles but with my faith and with God I can get through anything. Now, I can’t picture life without Divine. This group has opened many doors and has allowed me to strive to be a better leader.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I am the lead singer of Joe Johnson and Divine. We are a group who travels around to sing and bring as much joy to people’s lives as possible. We like to see people happy and enjoying their lives, especially if it is because of our entertainment. I am most proud of our most recent event with the Rachel Hollis Co. this past summer. We were able to share the stage with her and help close our conference. It was very surreal and allowed us to have an experience that we otherwise would not have had. Something that sets us apart from others is that we do not judge. When we sing at different engagements, we don’t care who may be in the audience. Our goal is to reach any and everybody through positive entertainment.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see us traveling more. Performing, teaching, ministering and making a big impact. Not only in Texas but all over the world with our music, voices, and ministry.
