Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Pulido.
Jose, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started 11 years ago in Colombia when I was studying my graphic design career. I have always been a person dedicated to art and drawing, I began to learn as an apprentice of Jhon Alex Cruz currently one of the most important realism tattoo artists in Colombia.
After having a successful career on graphic design and 3D art in my country, I decided to move to the United States to Grow my career as a tattoo artist in the big tattoo industry of this country, worked at virtuouso tattoo shop for four years until once again the desire to reinvent myself impelled me to create my own brand SELECT TATTOO STUDIO.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I want to think that it has been a smooth path for me and I have always been very blessed, but clearly changing to another language with another culture and such a different tattoo industry there have been different challenges, also being an immigrant I had to create a reputation from scratch in the industry and community.

Select tattoo studio is my own vision of what a tattoo shop should be, doing fine art on the skin of my clients, taking good care of our artists so that they take care of their costumers, I consider myself part of the new tattoo industry and I want to take it to the next level and build SELECT TATTOO as a powerful brand and an upscale tattoo studio.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I consider myself to have had a successful career with many awards at different tattoo shows, I think the moment I feel most proud of in my career is just beginning here in “select tattoo studio.”
