Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Perrier.
Joshua, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, I started being a motivational speaker really out of nowhere. I was always told that my life is a testimony. My professors always told me to write a book, but I didn’t know how to begin. So I started with morning prayers on Snapchat, then that leads to me praying for people in person to using my story through videos & posts on Instagram.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was so hard & I would never say it’ll be easy! From jail, being homeless, stealing, fighting, etc. I didn’t know how to control my feelings! I have been the type to give advice or help anybody, but the way I was living & what I wanted to do in life was not matching up, so I had to make a change.
Motivational speaking – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Ok, so I do motivational videos/life coach! I try to inspire the youth mainly because they are the next change in the world but I do it for anybody. I’m known for making comparisons with my motivation. I am most proud of the fact that so many people hit me up, wanted to meet in person & some people admitted to me saying I saved them. Means the utmost to me. I think I’m different because 100% of anything I say is authentic & no lies. I don’t have to keep it fake. The real is being recognized!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I think my proudest moment is when someone called me telling me how my video saved them from overdosing. This means a lot because if I can get better with speaking, who knows how many others I can reach like that.
