Meet Kenneth Smith of Getting Established in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenneth Smith.

Kenneth, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1995, I learned quickly how ever-changing life is when I lost everything I had and the comforts I knew in Hurricane Katrina, which moved me to Dallas, Texas. Since I refused help from my family and, due to the decisions I made at the time, I left the house at 19 with no money, no job, and no college experience. Through that experience of being in my first apartment alone, I discovered there were a lot of things I wished I’d known when I was younger. Whether it was learning how to cook, what credit is, or the importance of knowledge, I began to jot down all those things down. With perseverance, mentorship, and studying, I was able to pull myself out to a prosperous life. I desire to share the principles I used to become stable with those around the world.

Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not, as a matter of fact, anything that I have had great success in hasn’t been smooth. What that has taught me though, is that just because something doesn’t “feel good” or is going “smooth”, doesn’t mean that it isn’t for me. Just one example, publishing my own book was very scary for me for many reasons but one big reason was that I was afraid of what people may say, but I used my bigger purpose which was publishing this book in the dedication of my future kids to help get me over that fear.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is called Getting Established. We specialize in helping people get on there two feet. The tools that we are offering right now is Motivational/Inspirational speaking, my book “10 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Turned 18”, my YouTube page at youtube.com/kennethsmithjr, and Credit Repair. What sets us apart is that not many people are even willing to help others get on their two feet if they are not already on their two feet. Getting Established LOVES helping others even and would take the extra step to do so.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely, I love Dallas so much. I always share the fact that if I didn’t live in Dallas, I’d move to Dallas especially because of the great opportunity here.
