Kimber, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
If I told you my dream six years ago where I am today never existed for me… I had made the decision to go back to school to finish my last year of college I prayed about it God opened doors boom I’m back in school with a five years old no job but no worries I knew God had me right!… My faith started to grow stronger as my flesh began to get weary.
I’m months in, away from my family and still jobless and broke, until my BESTFRIEND shouts out to BridgetteMiles, she pushed me to start my makeup business like she believed in me more than I believed in myself so why not make money while doing something I loved to do. Every weekend for a year and a half straight me and my son would travel to Dallas and I would do makeup whether it was one two three maybe even a wedding party I was doing it. Over the year in a half I built my business up as well I graduated with my bachelors in education only not to ever to teach…waste of time right, wrong, if I never went back to school it would have never lead or pushed me rather to starting my own business. And for that I’m thankful. I remember crying myself to sleep thinking I made the wrong decision to finish college when all the time God was preparing to walk right into my dreams.
Has it been a smooth road?
I think the only smooth road is in heaven… Lolol This road has not been super rough but it hasn’t been super smooth either, especially in the beginning it’s like you literally have to learn all the bad about the business/industry before it actually can be smooth sailing. But that is what makes it worth it all and even more valuable when it’s not smooth and easy. After you finally get over that bump, u know the next time to go around it or go a different route so you can continue on that smooth road.

Kaked by Kimmy is my brand that I started as a freelance makeup artist. I specialize in anything dealing with makeup. My favorites are weddings I absolutely love everything about making the bride feel the least stress and making them look absolutely gorgeous on one of the most important days of their life.
The most I’m proud of is the fact that my brand does offer mortuary services not a lot of makeup artist do, but after seeing the look on the family faces after they see their loved one for the last time warms my soul. I thank God for my gift on a daily each experience is everything.
I do personal one on one’s sessions and some makeup classes.

I love everything about my city, my city stays supporting me what’s not to love.
