Today we’d like to introduce you to Leann Forst.
Leann, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2007, I started my journey after 3 miscarriages and every fertility doctor told me I would never be able to have another child. At that time, my 2 year old son was diagnosed with asthma and the doctors said he would have it for the rest of his life and never be able to participate in high energy sports. At that time he was on 5 different medications. We were in a dark place. So I got aggressive with research and realized that the food we were eating could be causing our health issues. One day I took 3 garbage bags of food out of my pantry, fridge and freezer and started over. 3 months later my son was asthma-free and I was pregnant with my daughter.
That was the beginning of our story. I became obsessed with health and nutrition. So even though I had my master’s degree, I went back to school to become a board certified holistic health practitioner. 3 weeks after I opened my private practice in Frisco, my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer. After 4 brain surgeries and radiation the oncologist said there was still some of the tumor left that they could not treat because it was on a blood vessel. What he said next changed our lives and my husband’s outcome. He said “Good nutrition and clean living can go a long way to disintegrate the rest of that tumor’. His wife was a holistic practitioner. That statement changed my husband’s outlook and we drilled down even more on health. 14 months later the tumor was gone.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No. My husband has had some setbacks but is still highly motivated and remains one of the healthiest people I know. As a teenager, my son rebels against anything healthy and wants to eat the junk he sees his friends eating so I have to get creative and work at it.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a family health and cancer coach. My passion is to help people regain their health with 7 steps:
Therapeutic plants
Toxic burden reduction
Testing for infections and toxicities
Targeted supplements
Teeth: Focus on dental health which is linked to many diseases
Therapies that are specific to the client’s situation
Thoughts/stress/sleep
I’m proud of my success rate with my clients. What sets me apart from other practitioners is that I do video coaching so I help people in Canada and all over the U.S.
What were you like growing up?
I was the outgoing tom boy that grew up on a farm in Iowa. I was also the captain of the cheerleading squad, on the drill team and tennis team and in Honor Society for academic achievement. I come from a large catholic Irish family. My dad was the oldest of 11 children and my grandparents would give a piece of land to each child as they left the nest. So my whole family of about 90 people lived within a mile and a half from me.
