Today we’d like to introduce you to Miriam Harris.
Miriam, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
So not a lot of people know this but I started my blogging journey in my teens. I blogged about the most random things and I shut it down after my classmates found out about it. I then started blogging again in my early 20’s and pregnant with my now seven year old son. I documented my whole pregnancy and would occasionally post fashion-related posts. It did pretty well but after I gave birth it was hard to keep up so I did what I “thought” was best and that was to completely stop (again). Then Instagram came about and I got the itch again and I created my blog simplymiriam. But after a year I rebranded and now I am bysimplymiriam.com where I blog about everything lifestyle from mom stuff, DIY projects, fashion, and a little bit of faith here and there.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh dear, its been the bumpiest road but also the most rewarding for sure. Finding my niche has definitely been the hardest for me because I’m an open book and if I could I would talk about it all. But I have to limit myself not just to not overwhelm myself but also my readers.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
Bysimplymiriam.com is a lifestyle blog where I share everything that I truly love and enjoy. I have narrowed it down to four categories and they are motherhood, fashion, faith, and DIY project. What I am most proud of is the friendships I have been able to make because of my platform also all of the business endeavors I have come across small or big. I believe what sets me apart is my willingness to be so open about my journey in general.
What were you like growing up?
I was a very mischievous girl. My mom would get a call from my school every other week, I wasn’t a bad kid I just liked to do my own thing. I was also very tomboyish I didn’t mind getting dirty. I really enjoyed climbing trees and bringing every dog I found home lol.
