Today we’d like to introduce you to Missi Lou Wilson.
Missi Lou, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I learned responsibilities at a very early age. I helped my mother care for my younger sister and my bedridden grandfather who suffered from lung cancer. At ten years old, our home burned down and we lost my beloved grandfather. The local churches and community came together to help my family. Watching people come together to help strangers did something to me. It inspired me to help others. I knew then that I was going to help others too.
Fast forward to today. I am 33, proud mother of a 9-year-old boy and I strive to help others. My goal is to leave a legacy of kindness for my son, Damian to carry on.
I wear many hats when it comes to working. I have grown a successful real estate career. I am honored to hold the position of Marketing Director for AB Moving, one of DFW’s largest moving companies and I am a Radio Personality for MissInformed on www.kvgiradio.com. This show speaks about common misconceptions, spotlights charities, pillars of the community and small businesses. I leverage all of these businesses against each other to help people around me succeed.
I work with a variety of charities and serve the community with my whole heart.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have learned that when you work hard for something, you will appreciate it more. At 14, I cleaned churches and held seasonal work. By the time I was 16, I held two jobs, graduated high school early, bought my own car and moved away for college. My work ethic was unparalleled to my peers and I learned that the more I worked, the more opportunities I received. There is no way around it. If you want to be successful, especially with your own business, you must be prepared to work harder than everyone around you. Be the kind that works hard and work hard to be kind and you will succeed.
Please tell us about MissInformed, Northbrook Realty Group, AB Moving.
Well, first off, I must say that when you enjoy what you are doing then you have a better chance and doing an excellent job.
I am a Realtor for Northbrook Realty Group. I focus on residential in the North Dallas area. I have held my license for four years and aspire to have my brokers license. Education and is my priority. I’m excited to watch 2019 unfold with the market.
I am also a Marketing Director for AB Moving. AB Moving is an amazing company that does residential, commercial and interstate moves. They cover Dallas, Ft Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. We recently championed a cause and formed a partnership with Make A Wish. I anticipate big thing with the volunteer world and also with fundraising here and I got to tell you, I am over the moon about this.
Lastly, I am a radio host for MissInformed. MissInformed is a radio show on the largest radio station in Frisco Texas, KVGI Radio. I talk about common misconceptions, spotlights charities, pillars of the community and small businesses. My show seats six people for one hour on Friday mornings 9-10 AM. I have so much fun serving as a platform to help others. The viewership has skyrocketed and we have a television series in the works! I have butterflies just thinking about it.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I really enjoyed sports. Track, basketball and being a cheerleader. All of my fondest memories were around my achievements with these activities.
