Meet Molly Setnick of Crowbar Cardio in Lower Greenville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Setnick.

Molly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After graduating from Baylor with a degree in Health/Fitness Studies, I started working in the fitness industry and haven’t stopped. I have worked for doctors and gyms, I have taught classes and been a personal trainer, and now I own my own fitness studio. I like helping people change their bodies, become healthier and stronger, and hopefully catch the fitness “bug”.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the spring of 2013, just 6 months after opening, my partner, Karen, contracted Necrotizing Fasciitis (flesh-eating bacteria), nearly had her leg amputated because of it, and was unable to work for a few more months. It was a bump in the road, but the “family” of instructors we had working for us pulled together and we got through it.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Crowbar Cardio – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Back in 2012, when Crowbar Cardio first opened, my partner, Karen, and I felt like there was a need for a boutique fitness studio that would offer people an intense workout that wouldn’t hurt their bodies. We very easily narrowed our focus to three high-intensity/low-impact exercise modalities: Indoor rowing, Indoor cycling, and Barre. Four and a half years later, we are still the only studio in Dallas offering indoor rowing classes, and they have become our most popular. We still strive to teach our clients that safe workouts can be awesome workouts.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
There aren’t any big changes on our horizon, but we will be making exciting adjustments to our classes in order to keep our clients engaged and keep up with the ever-changing world of fitness.
