Meet Nicole Terral of Joblessed Culture Productions in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Terral.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nicole. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a child, I was pretty creative and growing up an era where music videos were playing non stop truly sparked my interest in the film industry. I admired film and music video directors like Hype Williams and Director X and I knew very early on that I wanted to create films and video. After graduating high school, I received a full-ride basketball scholarship to the University of Texas at Arlington and majored in Film Production. Unfortunately, I listened to family members telling me I wouldn’t be able to find a job, or I wouldn’t make much money in the industry, etc., so I switched my major. At that time, I thought that was the best thing to do, but I now know that everything happens for a reason.

Now, I am more hungry to learn and grow. Basically a decade later I am back in school for Digital Cinematography to finish what I started. My wife Christina Terral has been a beam of support and love for me to chase my dreams and she pushes me daily to strive to be the best I can be.

I feel that your purpose is exactly why you’re here on this planet, so it is never too late to go after your passion. Just GO FOR IT! You’ve got nothing to lose!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe there will always be challenges in life, especially when you are truly trying to start something on your own. The majority of my challenges had always stemmed from myself and my way of thinking. I am truly an introvert at heart, so it was very difficult for me at first to talk to others or even share what I was doing. I remember there was one instance where I drove all the way to Dallas for a business mixer. When I arrived and saw all the people, I immediately walked right back to my car. I was so nervous but forced myself back to the crowd. I literally sat there with my cup of water not speaking to anyone (extra awkward, lol). I left feeling so defeated and upset with myself, but I then realized that I would have to push past being comfortable if I wanted to be successful.

Please tell us about Joblessed Culture Productions – what should we know?
I am a freelance videographer and filmmaker. I’m mostly known for event videography and creating content for hip hop artists and entrepreneurs in the DFW area to market themselves and their brands. I am also currently working on two short film documentaries which I am really excited about.

As a company, I am basically working and running things by myself. I am now in the process of bringing other creatives on board to have the ability to expand on more projects and to continue building clientele.

Something that sets me apart from others would be my vision and my focus on intent. The intentions behind what you do is an extremely powerful tool. My intent with any project I take on is to show or bring light to a different perspective. I understand the power I have as being a creative and visionary, so everything I do, I want it to be for the greater good of a community and the world.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
A quality or characteristic I feel that has been most important to my success thus far is my optimism. I try to look for the good in everything and everyone. I constantly hear that optimistic people can sometimes be naive, which is true. BUT I feel being able to see the positives even in a bad situation makes you appreciate the lessons learned during each trial or tough time. I learn, adapt, and move on quickly, rather than constantly reminding myself of a negative experience or something that was done wrong.
