Today we’d like to introduce you to Nivia Hanson.
Nivia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started freelance photography almost five years ago now. I practiced many forms, from family to weddings! In February of 2019, I discovered Boudoir photography and I was hooked!! I loved being able to show other women their beautiful, sexy side, either foe themselves or as a gift for their significant other. That love grew into a passion, and so exclusively work only boudoir style photography now. I’ve created a sisterhood within my women-only Facebook group of 4,200+. I truly believe every woman should be pampered and allowed to see and feel beautiful and sexy at least once in her life. My tag line is ‘Believe in Your Own Beauty’ because there is no one else like you and your beauty is valuable!! And knowing that raises your confidence to take on the world!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not smooth at all, but not insurmountable either! Learning what it takes to run a business is quite the learning curve. I’ve hired mentors to take some of the pain out it, however it’s still requires a lot of work, determination and vision to keep pushing forward. I have been down this road before. I working to create something from nothing and failed. It’s been a bumpy road, but I refuse to quit! I’ve come so far!
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a Boudoir photographer specializing in helping women believe in their own beauty. This belief inspires confidence and a knowledge that each woman is valuable and worthy! My business caters to women of all shapes, colors and size! I’m so proud to be able to say that and I wouldn’t have it any other way. From the pampering makeover that includes hair and makeup styling to the professional ‘no judgement zone’ photo session that includes expert posing guidance and coaching, each woman is treated special and deserving. My ultimate goal is for each client to leave her session feeling amazing!
What were you like growing up?
I was super shy growing up and a total bookworm!! I was the kid who borrowed 10-15 books at a time from library and would read for hours everyday. I was a slightly above-average student with a small circle of friends, but we were close! I also loved to fantasize about my future, who I would be, what I would do and with whom. I was a total romantic at heart!
