Meet Noelia Cabrera of Barbera’s Glam Hair Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelia Cabrera.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Noelia. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I am a hairdresser and owner at Barbera’s Glam Hair Studio and loving it! First of all, I want to say, I am truly Blessed and Grateful. I came to the U.S when I was 14 years old, with my family, for a better life and I am so thankful for that, and my mafily and support.

Arriving here with almost nothing and zero English, I was able to go to school and finish it successfully. After finishing high school I knew I always had a passion for art, so I decided to go to a community college and took art  classes. While working full time at Panda Express, after a while I was promoted to manager, and I took it. I worked for the company for over six years until I knew I needed to get back to what I love.

In 2011, I decided to go to Cosmetologist school. I have blossomed so much and have been beyond blessed to be where I am today. Thanks to my high school sweetheart, my husband now, Jose Cabrera. He’s been by my side always, supporting me and helping me in every single aspect of life. He is my everything! I started working at Salon Rizos in Irving, Tx in the middle of my cosmetologist school, I wanted to start practicing as soon as possible 🙂 back in 2011.

The owner and teammates were amazing to me! In 2013, with my husband support, always, I took the risk and left rizos, to rent a chair and be independent. It wasn’t easy, takes investment, discipline, customer service, loyalty, clients and to be fearless… a little… I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t for my clients who they believe in me and follow me in every step of my life.

It has been six years since I been operating my own business in a suite. And now my husband and I just opened a bigger space, Barbera’s Glam Hair Studio in Grapevine, Tx on July 7, 2018 With the help of my entire family, we were able to secure open our beautiful, cozy, great atmosphere salon. We offer several services, and kids are welcome! We are a family salon. 🙂

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I had my ups and downs, life is all about that, but it is beautiful!!! My challenge now is to move up and grow as a person and as a role model for my people. Build a great team, and make my clients feel comfortable and confident about themselves.

I specialize in color. People follow me for my work and recommendations. I’m proud that my business is growing, and I see my clients walking out the door happy!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Growing as a team and as a business, hopefully expanding.
