Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Casey.
Paige, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my Instagram account and blog @paigeydahling as a space to share travel tips, photography tips and clean beauty tips while working full time. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and a minor in general business administration, I started working with brands ranging from mom and pops to multi-million dollar companies as an account executive at multiple PR firms. I found all brands are really looking for the same thing; a consistent message and feel to bring in more customers. I’ve also been messing around with camera equipment since I was fourteen years old. I now work with local businesses to make sure they are properly targeting their audience. I work one-on-one with my clients to teach them how easy it is to create and plan out digital content that works especially if your brand simply can’t afford exorbitant agency retainer fees. In my free time, I travel and shoot content all around the world!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being your own boss definitely has its ups and downs. It’s very important to either build or find a support system so you don’t have to go at it alone. I can also attest networking has been one of the most important assets to growing my business.
Paigeydahling – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m most well known as the “Instagram specialist.” I’m very proud that I provide social media support for small local businesses who might not be able to afford other more well-known specialists. After finishing up a client meeting and seeing his or her face beaming, so excited to implement everything they just learned… It makes me so happy! I can’t tell you how many handwritten thank you notes I have received.
I chose to start my consulting business after having a series of bad luck with coworkers and employers. After starting my career making a measly 30,000 in the heart of Miami, even after a few raises working 60-hour weeks, I knew I could not work that grind forever. I needed to go out on my own. So my roommate and I packed up everything we had in a moving truck and drove all the way to Austin, Texas to essentially start over. It’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. Sometimes the biggest risks are the best choices!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Good health, constant growth spiritually and of course in my business.
