Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhea Plummer.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Rhea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I created Fab Wives in 2015 to provide a platform for millennial wives to connect and inspire each other.
I married at the age of 26 and did not have any married friends initially. Once I began to find my tribe of married women I noticed changes in my perspective on marriage. Many of the things I thought were signs that maybe we weren’t compatible after all, I realized through my new friendships were actually normal parts of growing in marriage. I wanted to create a platform that would allow other wives to feel this sense of normalcy. Essentially I wanted every wife to have her tribe!
Fab Wives started in Charlotte, NC and is now officially based in Charlotte, NC, NYC, the DMV Area and Atlanta. We have a community of over 3k wives nationwide (including the Dallas, TX area) and we have a membership program with over 200 wives.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Just like marriage, running a business is hard work but worth the rewards. Making sure I am able to meet the needs of the diverse group of wives and wives-to-be has its challenges. Fab Wives being a community but also a business also has its unique challenges as well. My primary focus is based on the question, “What does my community need from me to feel like they can confidently navigate marriage and balance the demands of being a wife.” Having my mission in the forefront at all times helps with the struggles I face with operating Fab Wives.
It can also be difficult sometimes to create content that is uplifting and positive on the days I am really struggling in my marriage. Thankfully, I have learned that I can also rely on my community of wives to uplift me on the days I am struggling. They don’t just want to receive it from me. They have been more than willing to give back and pour into me on the days I need them most!
Fab Wives – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Fab Wives is a premier resource for wives and wives-to-be. We provide resources to confidently navigate marriage and balance life as a wife.
We are known for our Fab Wives Unfiltered Podcast, events, resources, and most of all, our transparency. I truly believe that what sets us apart is that we address topics and areas a lot of people are afraid to touch on when it comes to marriage and being a wife.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t have many regrets when it comes to business but from a personal standpoint (as it relates to my marriage), I would have invested a lot more time, effort, and funds into creating a solid foundation and building my marriage earlier on.
There are a lot of great resources for marriage, such as books, conferences, retreats and, of course, marriage professionals. When I started really investing in my marriage, my husband and I experienced tremendous growth and breakthroughs.
