Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhiannon Rouyre.
Rhiannon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
About five years ago, I was working part-time, seven months pregnant, hating every minute not contributing to my family and wondering what I was going to do with my life. My now husband put a camera in my hands. That is how this dream got started. I fell in love with freezing moments and creating art, my way. I am 100% self-taught, thanks YouTube university and google! I became obsessed with perfecting my craft. I would stay up for hours and hours, watching YouTube tutorials, reading online forums, joining every photography group on Facebook that I could, and literally begging anyone and everyone to model for me so I could learn my camera.
I knew I wanted to pursue a career in photography, I just needed to figure out how. I was absolutely intimidated at the thought of starting a business and putting my work out in the world. This was terrifying to me, I was such a small fish in such a huge pond. My want to be great, pushed me to face my fears. I rarely slept, I cried A LOT, and when I had downtime between a newborn, two other small children and a household to keep up with, I was researching every single thing I could to become a successful photographer. As I was deciding what my ‘photography niche’ was, I asked some girl friends of mine if they would let me test out the boudoir side of photography with them, shouldn’t be that hard right? I will admit that I was not great, I needed some guidance FOR SURE. Intimate portrait sessions were not just about getting dolled up and taking ‘sexy’ pictures, it was so much more than I could have imagined.
Lifestyle by Rhiannon Rae was born which focuses on body empowerment and self-love through the art of intimate portraits for women AND men. I will be honest, when I first started capturing boudoir, I did not realize that my purpose was so much bigger than just taking ‘pretty pictures’. My purpose became about helping and teaching each woman OR man I came into contact with, how to love themselves again, couple sessions, lifestyle or intimate based, have become very popular in rekindling the spark between two people. I strive to give each woman/man, the most unique, high end and life-changing experience. Confidence is fragile, I always take the upmost care of each client that walks into my studio.
Has it been a smooth road?
Great accomplishments are not built on a smooth road, I wanted to give up a lot. The hardest thing for me was comparing myself to other photographers. Once I stopped worrying about what others were doing and started to focus solely on what I was doing, I flourished. I surrounded myself with like-minded people, clientele that truly believed in me and what I stand for, and by doing so I have grown so much over the last year in my clientele relationships. My clients/friends are so loyal and I cannot thank each of them enough for their continued support.

Lifestyle by Rhiannon Rae is all about empowerment through the art of intimate portrait photography. I am known for helping women embrace every inch of themselves. We as a human race are held to some seriously crazy standards, especially women and I wanted to break that stigma. What I am most proud of is that my passion is changing lives. It changes the way we see ourselves, it gives you confidence and it rekindles flames! I am who you come to see for a reminder of who you are, magical. An intimate portrait experience with me is life-changing! From start to finish, my hair and makeup artist, glams you up. I literally hype you up from the moment you walk in the studio. I am educated in posing all shapes and sizes. I have a client wardrobe you have access too, ALL SIZES. I also help style the entire session, from start to finish, it is all about the client! 2020 has been such a year of blessings, one of the biggest blessings was opening my beautiful, loft-style studio in downtown Fort Worth, TX. It is honestly a dream come true and has changed my work in such a beautiful way.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I for-see my industry continuing to expand and to shift the stigma that still looms over the boudoir industry. We will continue to show the world that we as intimate portrait photographers, are essential for the empowerment and self-love of women and men, everywhere!
