Today we’d like to introduce you to Rocky Padilla.
Rocky, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started window cleaning about 10 years ago after I was having breakfast with my father one morning contemplating what my next move would be due to the difficulty of finding a stable job that I liked at the time. He began telling me a story about a man who made $400-600 a day cleaning windows, of course being young it sounded like a good idea to pursue that kind of money so I decided to take his advice and check it out for myself. I began working for a local company for minimum pay, and as the years went by and several companies later, I learned more and more about the industry as well as the tricks of the trade and I began to love it. After being overworked and underpaid I felt it would be better for me and my family if I pursued my dream of opening my own business. That is when I took everything I learned from various companies and made my move with my wife to partner up and begin Texan Window Cleaning.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Well, no great accomplishment ever comes easy they say. Starting my own business has not been the easiest task, but has definitely been rewarding in the end. I started with basically nothing but the bare necessities, I shared a vehicle with my wife and was able to put a ladder and all my materials inside a 4-door sedan to make it to all my appointments. At the time, I was getting paid $20 a house no matter the size and had to finish at least 5 a day to bring in a decent living. I was working 11 hour days and using all kinds of gas that I really didn’t have the money for but I managed. I eventually found another company which paid more but again…I was working full days to barely make $100 a day. I finally had enough after I became a trainer and the top cleaner for the company, and I knew then it was my time to break away and do better for myself,

Texan Window Cleaning is located in Garland, TX and serves all of DFW and surrounding cities. We specialize in residential and commercial window cleaning as well as power washing and gutter cleaning. Other services we offer include mirror cleaning, blind cleaning, fan cleaning and also chandeliers We are well known for our crystal clear and streak free windows and also our friendly, reliable, and dedicated technicians! We are especially proud of our finished work, not only do we love making a window clean and streak free, but there is nothing more rewarding than a pleased customer. What were you like growing up?
Growing up wasn’t easy for me, I was placed in various foster homes and families for several years until I was finally adopted by a caring family here in Dallas TX at the age of 9. Because of this family, I was pushed to leave my past behind and not use it as a crutch, but to use it as motivation to do better for myself and my family in the future. As I grew wiser I realized and saw so many people using their past as an excuse, I knew I was better than that and better than any past I came from. Once I was adopted, I lived in Dallas from the time I was 9 years old until now. I played several sports in high school and did all the good and bad things normal teenagers do.
