Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Beth Marr.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sarah Beth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I danced professionally as a ballerina for fifteen years before becoming a writer. As a dancer, I was always looking for a Christian book that related my walk with Jesus to the world of dance. Later I began writing devotionals for dancers on my blog and started looking into what it would like to publish a book. Through many hoops and hurdles, and my own dreaming journey with God, Dreaming with God – A Bold Call to Step Out and Follow God’s Lead was contracted with Baker Books and will be released February 6th, 2018.
My favorite part about being a writer is getting to encourage women in all walks of life and in all season of life in their own journeys with the Lord. I love inspiring women to get into God’s Word and to seek Him in their everyday lives. Speaking to groups of women is another thing I absolutely love, as well as teaching God’s Word.
I am also a wife and mama to three precious sons, so my life as a writer also includes raising boys, running them to and from their activities, and lots and lots of baseball, football, and basketball games.
Has it been a smooth road?
This journey to publishing Dreaming with God has been at least an eight-year journey with lots of ups and downs. The journey to publication is no easy journey. It’s a long road of growing as a writer and working on my craft, learning the business side of marketing and presenting book ideas, and a sweet journey of praying, waiting and trusting the Lord’s timing.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Author of Dreaming with God – A Bold Call to Step Out and Follow God’s Lead www.sarahbethmarr.com – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I encourage women of all ages and all seasons from my home base: www.sarahbethmarr.com. I write devotionals for women to encourage them in their daily life and their dreaming journeys. I also speak to women’s groups, moms groups, teen groups, bible studies, etc. to inspire women to walk and dream with God. I love tying the metaphor of dancing to our walk with Jesus.
I love inspiring women to let God truly lead their lives and to learn to walk in step with Him. Dance is such a part of who I am and will probably always find its way into my writing. I think so many women can relate to dancing in some way, whether they took ballet as a child, have a dancing daughter, or just enjoy dance in some way. And I think the metaphor of dancing is a beautiful way to view our relationship with God – us dancing with Him through life.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Dallas is home to me. I was born and raised here, so for me, Dallas is family. In Dallas, we get to enjoy all of the seasons which I love. Dallas is city and country wrapped up in one. Dallas is a beautiful and wonderful place to raise a family too.
