Today we’d like to introduce you to Sebastian Sanchez.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been in photography for about six years. I took a photo 101 class just to fill an elective slot and the teacher claimed I had the eye. I told her don’t lie to me. I didn’t believe her until I was hired by a photo company doing kids sports all throughout central and south Texas. Eventually, I attended the art institute of San Antonio and that is where I really began to hone my craft. Many people even family would tell me how there is no money in photography but I just laugh every time I shoot a wedding and make 2000$. I am always trying to make my self better as a photographer I experiment a lot with my shoots. I see my self as a trendsetter not one who follows other ideas. In my spare time, I like to explore the arts. I attend the museum often and I’m in tune with the burlesque scene in San Antonio. I live here currently and right now I am debating whether or not I want to go to Dallas I do know that I want to go for my projects and to collaborate with the boudoir scene and fashion scene up there.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I had a hard time mastering photoshop I would look at master photographers work and compare and I would always feel so down that I couldn’t do as they do. I did find a lot of frustration in models or clients who would cancel. But now with my talent and client base I have less cancellations. Finally, I found it hard to do something different from all the other photographers like coming up with an original idea and MAKING IT LOOK GOOD! it was very hard but I have found with the right models and effort anything is possible
ENRQstudios – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in boudoir fashion and personality portraits. I pride myself on being able to take someone I’ve randomly met and getting them to open up in front of me in a matter of minutes. Making someone feel like a supermodel is such a great feeling and I love the confidence I see in people once they see there photos.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define it by being able to love what you do and make money from it, all the while creating an outstanding product.
