Shalandria, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always been good at recreating something I’ve seen. I wanted to take my love of crafting and create an environment where it would be easy for others to learn how to create different crafts for themselves while providing a hobby that releases stress. My business originally started as a way to offer cost-efficient opportunities to get craft services for those who simply do not have the time to create but want to showcase creative designs. This could be for home or to wear. Today my focus is on sharing the knowledge and experience that I have gained with others so that they too can have their own craft business or even just craft on their own for fun.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I can remember a time when I started completely over because what I started with simply didn’t represent my brand. I ended up having my business completely revamped, color theme revamped, branding changed. Everything had to change in order for me to get to a stable and consistent place. The good thing is that it was done early enough where it didn’t catch people off guard and most importantly it was then that I realized that businesses have the right to change and to update their look so that it speaks to the right audience.

Creations of Purpose is a custom design for print-based business. No matter what the idea is, Creations of Purpose works to accommodate those custom design ideas so that the intended expression is represented no matter where you go. The custom design for print ideas includes parties, girls’ trips, and family event shirts, hoodies, mugs, glassware and more. It also includes business support. This support can include creating custom logo image products (with already established logos) for sale directly on the website or business needs like precut customized vinyl. This eliminates the need for having a cutting machine or even the difficult task of weeding an intricate design. Just order the design and I will cut it and ship it directly to your doorstep.
The part of my business that I am most proud of is the newly added courses and one on one options. These options allow me to further connect with customers and share what I know works best. What sets me apart from other companies is that I strive to create resources that will help the customer experience be great and have them leave with a smile instead of questions or confusion.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel like our city is a good place for businesses like mine because there aren’t a lot of people who invest timewise into the crafting machine teaching experience or even simplifying the cutting process for others. If someone was just starting out my recommendation to them would be to make sure they have a product that stands out and not to give up when it appears to be tough.
