Meet Stacie Paris of Stacie Paris Photography in East Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacie Paris.

Stacie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always loved photography. Even as a child I had some sort of camera around. I actually worked at a small studio at one of the big-name box stores in 2007. While I did enjoy studio work, that was not what I had in mind. I eventually left and started saving for my own professional camera. I became a new mom shortly after leaving the studio, so it took a few years to get the money saved. I finally got my camera and I started taking pictures of insects, animals, and flowers in my backyard and at parks around my house. I also started working at weddings as a second shooter with a friend. Nature photography will always be my first love but when it comes to humans, I really love weddings. They are a lot of work but so much fun! Still, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to specialize in until I went to my first a hands-on workshop where we photographed children in beautiful couture dresses created by the talented designer, Anna Triant. I fell in love with her dresses and had an amazing time working with the children. From that day on, I have held a love and passion for fine art children’s photography. I still do a variety of shoots, including family sessions, senior portraits, maternity sessions, newborn sessions, and more. However, weddings and fine art children’s portraiture are my passion.

Has it been a smooth road?
My biggest challenges have been finding out what I want to specialize in and building a client base. At first, I tried going to art shows to sell my nature photography while I worked on finding my clients. That proved to be costly and time-consuming so I decided to go another direction. I chose to take classes that would help me with business and marketing. I also created an Etsy shop for my nature photography, which I update with new photos when I have time

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I specialize in Fine Art Children’s Portraiture. I absolutely love working with young children because they are so fun and full of life. I recently started collecting dresses and gowns for my little clients to use for their Princess Sessions, which has been a big hit.

I am known for my dreamy, ethereal, sometimes moody, but always sharp edits. I pride myself, however, on being able to provide my clients with the style they prefer. That could be ethereal and dramatic edits for one client, while another client might request a more light-and-airy feel. I love working with my clients to create unique & meaningful artwork that they will cherish for years to come.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
My favorite childhood memory is spending time with my Grandma in the summer. We would thumb through her countless photo albums and she had a story for every photo. Her stories were the best! I could listen to her all day while we watched the hummingbirds and drank coffee. She also taught me how to grow a garden, sew, and how to cook. I know she would be so proud of me and not a day goes by that I don’t wish I could show her my work and tell her how much she has inspired me.
