Today we’d like to introduce you to Summer Nixon.
Summer, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, TX. I started off dancing professionally at the age of 14. It’s where my niche for music kind of came from. After a failed relationship, I decided to pursue my dreams in Dallas. One night, at a friend’s apartment, in his living room where he had his makeshift studio, we were playing around with beats. I’ve always written poetry, so it wasn’t too difficult to turn it into a song. That’s how “Get Me Get You” came along. The rest is history.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think with anything worth having the journey is never really smooth. Some of the struggles have been finding confidence in myself as a well-rounded artist. Knowing I can do this. Another struggle I’ve faced is the isolation, but I think it’s just a part of it. I’ll get used to it.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Summer Nixon story. Tell us more about the business.
