Today we’d like to introduce you to Tadeja Perkins.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tadeja. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
So I’ve been in to make up since 6th grade, I use to sneak and buy dollar store eye shadow pallets and wear them every day a couple of years passed and I made it to, and I started picking up makeup skills from YouTube in school I was known for the Girl with the pretty make up from then on I got into YouTube and I started to get better as time progressed.
YouTube helped me improve my skills so much. I fell in love with cosmetics as a whole, eyelashes, lipstick, foundation, glitter, etc. I loved it! So when I graduated high school in 2016, I had planned to go to Texas a&m commerce but I didn’t get in so after that I couldn’t really find my passion for anything so I started working, and every night I would just sit up thinking about what I was going to do with my life I had no idea! So one day, I found this cosmetology school on Google it was called Paul Mitchell Arlington in Arlington, Texas it is the #1 beauty school in that world!
So I took a tour & fell in love but remind you I knew nothing about hair but they told me they taught makeup as well so as time passed I finally got in and the school was amazing it was like real college. But as months passed I realized it wasn’t for me, they only taught make up twice a week which was not enough for me! So I ended up leaving because I found this make up school called boss beauty make up Academy in Richardson , Texas I loved it at first until it got too expensive I was paying 350$ every two weeks and I was working at Walmart at the time making 400$ every two weeks so it wasn’t working out in my favor I was disappointed in myself because I ended up leaving the school too.
So as months go by, I’m at home just thinking I went to Walmart & bought a journal and wrote down all my dreams and things I wanted to do. I wrote down how I wanted to start my own cosmetics line and also own a full-service beauty bar so in September of 2018 I stayed up one night for hours looking for vendors so that I could start my own cosmetics line, and I found some great ones so the following week I went to work I changed my hours and started working overtime so that I could get the money to get inventory to start my business remind you I was still working at Walmart!
In December, I had applied for a credit card with capital one, and I got approved for 300$ credit line, I used 211$ dollars of it immediately & bought 50 pairs of lashes I started selling them for 18$ only sold 1 pair the first week I cried I was so upset so the next week I had a 75% off sale all lashes were 5$ it helped me get my name out there I had 10 orders I was so excited I started off with 10 followers now I have 420 followers on my Instagram page I hope to continue to grow and build my brand I want to be just like supa cent the CEO of the crayon case cosmetics.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been smooth at all, the trouble I am having is trying to figure out how do I keep a steady flow of customers buying from me every day I get like three customers per week if not less than that. I find myself buying a product, and it will sit for weeks and not sell I have to find ways to grab my audience attention.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Queen beauty cosmetics LLC story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is queenbeautycosmetics LLC queen means a female ruler of an independent state! My company is for women to feel good about herself. I want them to feel empowered and beautiful when they wear my product. I want them to feel like the Queen they are.
We are known for our 25mm Mink 3D Siberian Lashes, as a company I’m proud that we are growing so fast, and what sets my company aside from others is my prices are very affordable because I want everyone to be able to look Beauty and not have to spend lots of money to do so!
We also have great customer service we listen to our audience and get there opinions on things to see what they like or wanna see from us
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my company expanding into other cities and opening up a store and a Warehouse. Also selling cosmetics all over the world.
