Tandi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My Barbies were my first clients. They had the cutest bob haircuts ever! It wasn’t until my first, late 20’s, mid-life crisis that I finally decided to actually make my creativity dreams a reality. I walked away from a career in executive management to make art. Art is my passion, and hair is my medium.
Has it been a smooth road?
You have to hustle in the hair industry. You have to go out there and prove to the world that you are as great as you think you are. People are reluctant to sit in your chair if you tell them you just graduated from school. But, hair is art, there will be someone starting school tomorrow 10 times better than someone who has been doing hair for 20 years. It is something we are born with. You hone your skills over time, but the natural talent is always there.

I am an independent stylist in the best salon in Parker County. Elite Salon of Weatherford. We are all talented. I love every aspect of the hair industry from a simple root touch up- to rainbow hair. I am currently nominated for best hairstylist in Parker County, that is probably the best thing ever!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m building my brand. One day I hope to own my own salon.
