Meet Tiffany Middleton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Middleton.

Tiffany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
If you were to ask 17 years old me where I saw myself in 20 years, I guarantee she wouldn’t say Oklahoma running a non-profit. Growing up, I had different Ideas of who I wanted to be and where I would end up. I didn’t think I would make it to 37, I’m glad my life lead me down this path to help share my love for mental heath, education and this community. I had to go through a lot of dark days to get here and I’m always open to sharing my mental health journey with people so they don’t have to struggle like I did. Mental Health is important and we need to embrace it and talk about it more openly to remove the stigma in everyone’s mind.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting any business is stressful but starting a non-profit has its own separate rules that you have to follow. It’s hard finding reliable people to help you. People are only willing to volunteer so much of their time for free. When starting your own business you learn a lot about yourself and those around you. People will think you’re crazy for doing it but your passion has to be enough to push you through the long days, nights, months and years alone.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Be The Village offers Tutoring a mentoring program as well as Mental Health and Life Skill Workshops. We are the net to help catch any children falling through the cracks. My personal specialty is reading torturing, I enjoy connection kids with their imagination, giving them a new opportunity to explore new places. I’m very proud of our first end summer Hunger Program, we helped 10 families over toe summer with groceries and prayer, we’re able to assist more families this year.

What were you like growing up?
As an only child growing up, I was often had to entertain myself. Books and music were my first love and I’m so excited to share my love for reading with the younger generation.
