Meet Tippy Balady

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tippy Balady.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My singing and music career started when I joined a band for my 5th grade talent show. Shortly afterwards, in the summer I participated in a songwriting camp. I wrote my first song and I discovered I had a knack for songwriting. I began performing my originals all over the Dallas Metropex in local coffee shops and bars and continue today.

Please tell us about your art.
I am a songwriter who writes as a way to convey how I’m feeling and tell my personal stories to others that I’m either too scared to talk about out loud or too hard for me to explain just by speaking. Songwriting is an outlet for me to deal with my emotions in a healthy way and be able to help others realize that they are not alone with how they’re feeling. I hope to one day be the voice of the people afraid to speak up and that my songs can help those who are struggling find some sort of comfort in my lyrics.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
I’m currently 17 so I’m still trying to navigate my way through the industry and learning as much as I can from other more experienced musicians. But, one thing that I have learned is to not let others take advantage of you because you’re young or try to sculpt you into something that you are not. Stay true to yourself and to your art.
