Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiva Pegues.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tiva. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I had a vision of this business four years ago. It was shortly after having my first child. I was going through life changes that most mothers go through. Just trying to figure out my life now as a mother and how I can still be me, Tiva, and a great mom all at the same time. I then started thinking of forming a sisterhood for mothers.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has been a road full of ups and downs. Mostly on my end with not stepping out on faith with the vision God gave me. God gave me this vision in 2015 and I kept putting it off thinking it wouldn’t be successful. Here I am, 2019, and God has moved in so many ways and faster than I ever expected.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mommin’ Mode – what should we know?
Mommin’ Mode is a lifestyle brand.
Our mission is to empower, support and have networking opportunities for the everyday mom. Whether that is a single, married, working or stay-at-home mom. Mommin’ Mode is about sisterhood. We have mommy and child play dates, community service projects as well as events for moms only.
Mommin’ Mode also offers a unique brand of t-shirts, hats, makeup bags, and sunglass cases. We also do custom apparel.
Through our social media following, we offer encouragement and support through an inspirational post.
I am most proud of the feedback that I constantly receive, letting me know how much this platform is needed for moms. They know that through Mommin’ Mode they can be uplifted and there are other mothers out there just like them that love their children but need encouragement and a sense of feeling like they are someone outside of being just a mom.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
For the success of Mommin’ Mode, I know that I must be open. Opening up about my experiences as a mother will surely help another mother out there that may be hopeless with the same experience.
