Today we’d like to introduce you to Airika Nicole.
Airika, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m an introvert! That’s not typically how I start a conversation but I think for people who read about me, it’s an important thing to know. A lot of times, when we read about people or see their Instagrams, we assume they have these amazing social skills and that’s why they do what they do. More often than not, that’s not really how it is. I’ve learned that people tend to think they are more alone and have singular issues. I don’t want to be one of those people. I want to share my story and I hope that whoever needs to hear it, will feel less alone.
I started blogging and YouTube in 2014. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew I wanted to share more of myself. So, I would buy a keyboard for my iPad mini and would set up shop in Starbucks before work and start blogging. When I got off work, I would record YouTube videos and edit. I started off talking about makeup and how to budget to get makeup. My videos consisted of makeup, vlogs and a little bit of lifestyle. Life kinda happened and I stopped blogging and focused more on videos. Those even started to take a back burner, the busier I became in my own personal life. Fast forward to 2017, I was figuring out what exactly I wanted to focus on because I still felt a calling to share myself. Then, I finally decided I was just going to go for it, and I started writing. I revamped my blogspot and started posting.
Now, in 2019, I rebranded everything from Airro Life to Airika Nicole. I launched a website late last year. I talk about everything that makes me, me. My website AirikaNicole.com has a little bit of everything from movies and shows that I watch to the anime that I love. I share my life experiences in my personal blog as well as all things beauty. I wanted my website to show you all the aspects of me in one place. I think everyone can find something to get into on my AirikaNicole.com.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to finding myself was a hard one because it meant I had to brutally honest with myself. That isn’t easy. Finding yourself allows you to see where you want to be a lot clearer. So, that was step one. So far, the road to success has been steady. I’m learning new things every day. The best advice I can give is put in the effort. The amount of effort you put into something is what you’ll get back. Also, be intentional about your choices. Make everything count.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a blogger, and I love sharing myself with others. I love talking about lessons I’ve learned as a young woman to beauty advice, reviews on anime, mental health. I am most proud of my first band collaboration with Bobbi Brown last year.
I find the biggest thing that sets me apart from others is that I’m honest through and through. I share the real and that will never change.
Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mother is my biggest inspiration. She has shown me that mistakes happen, life happens but you don’t just give up. You have to pick yourself up and change your situation. No one will do it for you. She continues to be a great example. She’s the blueprint.
