Meet Trailblazer Kallye Cain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kallye Cain.

Kallye, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a teen, I worked many part-time jobs, it didn’t take long for me to realize that working under someone was not the path I wanted to take. My junior year of High school, I began researching other sources of income and I decided that I could start doing hair from home.

I enjoyed doing sew-in’s and box braids, but I wasn’t in love with what I was doing. After graduating High school six months early, I found myself in a stuck place, I wasn’t sure what my calling was. One day I happened to be scrolling on social media and that’s where I discovered lash extensions, I noticed that there were many people who held classes on lash application so I took a risk and took a class, as of April 2018 I became a certified lash technician. A year later, I completed an esthetics program at AVEDA institute, and my small lash business began to take off right in front of my eyes!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My journey has been everything but easy. There are days that I am not fully booked, and there are days that I wish I never had to see another lash again because I am overbooked! I consider both types of days as a blessing. I feel that one of the biggest struggles for an aspiring entrepreneur is having patience. You will not build the business that you dream of overnight, it takes time, hard work, and lots of dedication. My advice to those starting a business and/or joining the lash industry is to stay consistent, spend as much time as you need to perfect your craft, and never be afraid to ask for guidance.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Klassy Kartel Official – what should we know?
I receive positive feedback from clients and potential clients based off of my customer service skills, pricing, and overall technique. I believe that my work speaks for itself, literally. You can tell the difference between Lashed by Klassy Kartel’s fullset and another artist fullset just by looking at them. I am most proud of the way I market and brand my business, with each product I stamp my logo on it so that everyone is aware that the specific item they are purchasing will give them the “Klassy Experience”.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
My advice is to never give up, success doesn’t happen overnight. Do not expect to profit more than you have invested, it is important to build your business first and then you can start expecting a profit.

Pricing:

  • I started off charging $20-50
  • I now start off services pricing at $100
