Meet Trailblazer Katie Rosebraugh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Rosebraugh.

Katie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m an example of a mid-life career changer. I worked in accounting and financial planning most of my career. In college, I majored in Business Administration but most of my elective courses were in photography and art. So, I have a unique education in business and art.

Then, in 2011, I went to a parent’s weekend at my daughter’s college, CalArts, and it changed my life. Seeing the work of all those amazingly talented students was so inspiring. It reminded me of my own college art classes and got me back in touch with my creative side. As soon as I returned home after that weekend, I enrolled in online graphic design classes at Sessions.edu. My goal was just to do something creative on the side but it turned into more. A year later, I quit the corporate world to pursue my creative career. That was 6 years ago. I started with web design and moved into photography 2 years ago. Having a business background has really helped me with starting my own business.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There were some bumps along the way; divorce, being a single mom, dealing with an addicted child, and the struggle to reinvent yourself. Family, friends, and support networks helped me through. My advice for other women and younger women just starting their journey would be to not be afraid to seek and ask for help. I struggle with this but when I do finally reach out for help I’m most always glad that I did.

We’d love to hear more about Katherine Gail Co.
I specialize in portrait photography, specifically high school seniors and personal branding photography.
Most people are familiar with high school senior photography but not many know about personal branding photography. Personal brand photography is the art of using high-quality images to tell the story of your brand. Using photos to market and advertise your brand not only positions you as an expert in your field but it gives your clients and audience a more authentic brand experience. Whether you’re a coach, online entrepreneur, influencer or speaker, beautiful, professional photography can really take your branding to the next level. You need personal branding photography if you are the face of your brand and it is important for people to connect with you.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mom because when she went to college she was one of the few women taking business courses. She was a pioneer in her time.

My daughter because she overcame an opiate addiction and has been sober for over 3 years now. She is now working in the recovery industry. I am very proud of her.
